Wheelrise

The Roberts starfield, colloqially known as the Wheel of Life constellation, is one of an estimated 40,000 potentially similar starfields, of which only 400 are known and only 40 visible from inhabited planets; The Roberts being the most famous with more than 90 percent of the highest magnitude stars conforming to the dominant pattern. Although occuring purely due to coincidence, the search for these quirks of nature has thrown up useful colateral benefits due to the complexity of calculating possible extraterrestrial constellations from observations made at oblique positions. The Roberts field itself was predicted almost 200 years before it was finally observed from the planet Sanyork by the Harvard professor whose name it now bears. The constellation was historically known as the Wheel of Life and so dominated the night sky that it is the planets only astrological sign. The peaceable nature of the inhabitants is sometimes credited to this fact. Undoubtedly, the brightness of the starlight it produces, which allows plants to photosynthesise during the night, has contributed to the giant stature of the Sanyork, its flora and its fauna. Sanyork is a popular destination for holiday makers and especially independant travellers, who are encouraged by the peaceloving and sociable locals. The planet has also become popular with the world of finance, with many large Folds locating their headquarters on this interesting and picturesque planet.
